Austin College

Austin College is a private liberal arts college located in Sherman, Texas and has a 100-acre environmentally green campus North of Dallas. Austin College was founded in 1849 and fosters close interaction between professors and students by having a small class size, most averaging fewer than 25 students. The College offers around 35 majors and pre-professional programs. Students can also choose a specialized major according to their particular interests. Austin College has a nationally recognized five-year Master of Arts in Teaching program, for which it is quite famous. Other popular programs include pre-medical, pre-law, and international studies. The music program at Austin College is also popular, and the department supports the Austin College A Cappella Choir and the Sherman Symphony Orchestra.
