The Games Academy

In autumn 2019, the  Games Academy and the  Mediadesign Hochschule  (MD.H)  announced their merger at the world's largest games trade fair, gamescom . Together, we will offer the full range of  training and continuing education, including bachelor's and master's degree programs, for the gaming industry  . Our goal is to apply common quality standards to educational formats for the digital society – from apprenticeships to master's degrees – and thus ensure a balance between practice-oriented and academic education. The GAMES ACADEMY is Europe's first and leading specialized school for game development. For over twenty years, we have focused all our energies on professional training and the placement of specialists in this field. Successful learning is a complex process that requires careful planning. The majority of teaching units are delivered in the form of a timetable spread over an extended period of time. Compared to modularized training (one topic covered compactly over several days or weeks), this approach – as recognized studies show – results in significantly better learning outcomes. Education also means social learning. For many students, the apprenticeship at the GAMES ACADEMY is the first step toward independent living. Whether it's tips on finding accommodation or personal counseling in challenging life situations, the GAMES ACADEMY team is always there to support students. We place particular emphasis on practical adaptation to future professional life in this exciting industry. Training in typical work practices such as meetings, task development, and team leadership are just as important as regular internal and external project presentations. Through events such as Recruitment Day and application training modules, the Games Academy actively supports participants in their integration into the job market.
