For more than 35 years, the Bachelor of Science degree program in construction management has provided students with the necessary education and practical experience to excel in the 21st century. Our program is one of the largest construction management programs in the Southeast and has a highly qualified and experienced faculty from the fields of civil engineering, architecture, construction management and mechanical engineering. ECU’s construction management program was the first accredited program in North Carolina and is one of 72 accredited programs in the country. The Department of Construction Management is housed in the College of Engineering and Technology and has state-of-the-art classroom and laboratory facilities. The Caterpillar High-Bay Laboratory is equipped with an overhead gantry crane with which students have the opportunity to assemble steel structures and structural framing units. Construction management professionals construct designs of architects and engineers, and they create facilities for owners and end-users. The field of construction management is responsible for the entire spectrum of facilities and structures, including water and sewer utilities, gas pipelines, tunnels, seaports, airports, roads, highways, bridges, industrial plants, residential and commercial buildings, and more. As such, professionals have multiple options from which they can select an area that matches their passion and talent.
