The information and cybersecurity technology curriculum prepares students for a career in information technology, computer networking, systems administration, cybersecurity and technical management. Coursework provides a sound base of information technology fundamentals and advanced work in internet working and client-server information systems. Under the Microsoft Academic Alliance and the Red Hat Academy, all students gain in-depth experience in configuring and maintaining networked operating systems and server applications. Under the Cisco Networking Academy, students gain an in-depth understanding of internetwork technology and experience hands-on practice with Cisco routers and switches. Students are required to have an internship and to complete a two-semester professional capstone project, both areas that will only help you be competitive with most IT positions. Furthermore, students have the potential to earn up to seven professional certifications that will give an additional boost in the job market. Students will gain a solid management background while earning this degree. The information and cybersecurity technology program provides a wide range of experiences in, and apart from, the technology areas that prepare you to work in the field. This foundation will provide the needed skills to advance in a technology-based career.
