University of New Brunswick (UNB)
Our program allows graduate students to be involved in high level research and development, and the design of a wide range of mechanical systems. UNB’s mechanical engineering program offers students exciting and diverse program options including: biomedical engineering, instrumentation and control, manufacturing engineering, materials characterization and processing, and mechatronics. Students have access to various labs, and the department is linked with various research groups and institutes, for example, the Nanocomposites and Mechanics (NCM) Laboratory (the Canadian Cold Spray Research and Innovation Inititative), the Marine Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence (the first research centre in Canada to use 3D metal printing as a method for manufacturing certified, custom parts for the marine sector), the Advanced Manufacturing Lab (High performance machining, manufacturing and materials characterization), Robotics and Mechanisms Laboratory, Bioenergy and Bioproducts Research Lab, and Institute of Biomedical Engineering.
