The Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling is an advanced vocational qualification designed for people who already have a Certificate III in light or automotive mechanical technology (or equivalent). It trains students to diagnose complex system faults and perform overhauls and repairs on mechanical systems of light vehicles — including engines, steering, braking, clutches, transmissions, final drive assemblies, and fuel systems. The program combines classroom theory, hands‑on workshop practice, and sometimes on‑the‑job placements
