Gain a broad understanding of core concepts and practical skills in IT with a focus on technical support, equipping you for employment in roles such as computer technician, service desk, or technical support, or preparing you for further study. Develop an awareness of the IT environment, understand user needs, and learn to provide effective IT technical support while operating within professional standards, both independently and as part of a team. You will learn to select, install, and configure IT hardware and system software to meet organisational requirements; apply broad operational knowledge of networking, services, and technologies; and use fundamental information systems concepts and practices to support and improve organisational processes. Additionally, you will apply professional, legal, and ethical principles in a socially responsible manner as an emerging IT professional, and identify common IT security issues while implementing a range of appropriate solutions.
