The Master of Science in Data Analytics Engineering provides the knowledge and skills to improve products, processes, systems, and enterprises through data mining, data management, machine learning, and visualization. Building on their engineering or science background, students will develop expertise in the analysis and optimization of data to solve problems and support decision making. They will gain rigorous analytical skills and research experience through technically advanced core courses in operations research, statistics, data mining, database management, and visualization, while specializing their degree with flexible electives from across Northeastern’s colleges. Some elective courses include Big Data, smart manufacturing, machine learning, business or healthcare analytics, network science, and Internet of Things. They’ll be prepared to take on a data analyst position in any industry or enter a doctoral program in areas including engineering healthcare, business, finance, security, or sustainability.
