Engineering Technology is that part of the engineering field which blends scientific and engineering knowledge with technical skills in research, development and production. College of San Mateo offers the General Education, mathematics, science, engineering, and many of the technical courses required to meet lower division requirements in Engineering Technology and prepare the student for transfer to a baccalaureate institution for a degree in Engineering Technology. The Associate degree alone prepares them for employment as engineering technicians, who work with or under the direction of engineers.
