If you are interested in working directly with patients or want to pursue a leadership role within a healthcare institution, a bachelor’s degree in nursing can open those doors for you. By selecting a career-focused major like nursing, you are well-positioned for lifelong learning and career advancement. The nursing major's basic/pre-licensure option is for students who do not have a previous nursing degree, as well as those who have a bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than nursing. If you have a bachelor's degree in a non-nursing field, you may consider the undergraduate major or the Entry-Level Master of Science (ELMS) program. Towson University’s bachelor’s degree with a major in nursing requires a minimum of 120 units for graduation. Enroll in the required science courses as you build your communication, critical thinking and leadership skills. However, established departmental requirements must also be completed for graduation with a nursing major, which means most students enrolled in the program may need to complete more than 120 units.
