Software Engineering (SE) is specialized in talent demand for business, with good scientific literacy training system to master basic computer theory, software development, software management, computer application technology, with the use of advanced engineering methods, techniques and tools in software analysis, design, development, maintenance, etc., as well as organizational and management skills, teamwork and practical high-level, complex software engineering and project management talent. This major has the first-class discipline doctor authorization point and the post doctoral research flow station. It is the outstanding engineer (software) education and training program project specialty and school level brand specialty in Jiangsu Province. The strength of the teaching staff is strong. There is one special expert in the "thousand talents plan" of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and 9 talents at or above the provincial and ministerial level. They have successively undertaken the National Natural Science Foundation of China, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects and various horizontal scientific research projects. This major has four provincial platforms: Jiangsu knowledge management and intelligent service engineering research center, Jiangsu demonstration teaching experimental center, Jiangsu International Software Service Outsourcing talent training base, and Jiangsu Local Colleges and universities training software service outsourcing talents pilot unit.
