This is a three-year career program that provides the professional training needed to understand and promote children’s learning and development. Extensive fieldwork experiences provide students with an opportunity to combine theory with practical application. Students develop a caring, patient aitude, good organizational skills and a commitment to personal and professional excellence.
The on-site ECE Lab Nursery, unique in the English CEGEP network, is an integral part of our program. It is a model environment learning an innovative, educational morning program for preschool children. The adjoining Observation facility has a one-way glass, cameras and microphones. Students regularly observe the children and the educators in the Lab, and on occasion, work directly with them.
The two-year Fast Track Program is available for applicants who have already completed a DCS. Similar advanced standing is possible for those who have already completed an AEC in Early Childhood Care.
