This program will prepare you for an interdisciplinary field, working with groups of all kinds, particularly ones experiencing marginalization and/or a collective will to empower change within their personal and professional communities. Students build critical thinking skills in matters of group dynamics, social justice, anti-oppressive practice, sustainable development, community engagement, strengths-based CD and asset mapping, fundraising, team building, collaborative leadership, community economic development, project management, community-based research, and project evaluation. This program is catered to suit young adults preparing to start their career as well as seasoned professionals looking to layer Community Development skills into their ability to engage and activate change at the community level.
