Also known as Horticultural Field Technicians or Greenhouse Technicians, Horticulture Technicians are a type of agricultural worker that work with plants to ensure they are healthy. They may work in outdoor environments such as fields of agricultural produce, or in indoor environments such as hydroponics facilities and greenhouses.The course covers areas such as plant propagation, pest and disease management, soil science, irrigation, sustainable landscaping, and greenhouse operations. Through the co-op placement, students gain hands-on industry experience in nurseries, botanical gardens, landscaping companies, or agricultural businesses.
