Course overview

As society evolves, crime changes too. From your first day on our course you will consider how criminological theory, and crime itself, is changing. We will start by looking at the history of criminological thought. This will help you understand different types of deviance and how they are shaped by developments in society. Then as you progress through the course you can choose from a diverse range of modules covering varied topics. This means you can tailor your degree to your interests and future career ambitions. On specialist modules you will learn the qualitative and quantitative research methods used by criminologists and apply them to your own research.
