With an Associate of Science degree, students will be prepared to transfer to a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) program at the university of their choice. Gain expertise in current programming languages, program design and programming mobile and web applications as well as the essential communications and problem-solving skills needed to excel in this field. Enrolling in the programming option in Information Technology will prepare you for positions in the software industry such as Junior Software Engineer, Mobile App Developer and Front End Developer. You may also have the opportunity to work as a programmer, web support or data support professional for banks, law firms and other businesses or public agencies.This high–powered curriculum was designed with input from Puget Sound industry representatives, and teaches the skills needed for successful employment. Classes in the program provide expertise in current programming languages, program design and operating systems, as well as granting students an introduction to computer hardware and essential communications and problem-solving skills.
