The Carpentry program at Seattle Central College's Wood Technology Center will help students learn and master carpentry skills with the guidance and supervision of expert instructors. The five-quarter Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree program is designed to help entry-level and experienced students become highly-skilled professionals in the construction industry. Carpentry is a fast-growing field, and northwest Washington has one of the highest concentrations of carpentry jobs nationwide (according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). The Carpentry program will help students gain valuable skills that employers want, and they will gain valuable experience with green building practices, cutting-edge materials and industry best practices.
