Designed to address the government's ambition of filling the current digital skills gap, this BCS accredited MSc Information and Technology course will provide students with the specialist IT skills set required to succeed in industry. They will learn to deal with complex IT issues systematically and creatively, enhancing their ability to evaluate and apply advanced theories and techniques to a range of situations. Learners can either choose to study the individual MSc Information and Technology program. This course will help students develop sophisticated critical thinking and self-direction while addressing problems similar to those faced in industry. LBU takes a hands-on teaching approach in most modules, allowing students to apply specialist skills in various contexts. Across all pathways, the University's industry contacts and research expertise will ensure the course content will be current and highly relevant to the sector. Learners will be encouraged to engage with the external partners for their dissertation, to refine their knowledge and enhance their professional networks. Guest lecturers are also invited to speak, and students will have the opportunity to get involved with industry related events. Besides, there are placement opportunities for students. MSc Information and Technology graduates can look forward to a wide range of career opportunities in internet and enterprise software development and also information systems such as cloud developer, software or systems developer, network manager, information systems manager, IT project manager and database developer.
