Civil engineers work on the design and construction of buildings and structures, highways, bridges, water supply and treatment systems. This course will equip you with the skills you need to work as a civil engineering technologist, carrying out much of the detailed analytical and design specifications in a building project. You’ll develop your mathematical and analytical skills to solve many of the problems encountered in the broader civil engineering industry. Subjects include:

Each year of the course is delivered over two semesters with examinations at the end of each semester. At the end of Year 2, you can choose either Civil/Environmental or Structural Engineering options for Year 3. You can expect a varied and challenging career with a good salary, secure employment and good promotion opportunities. During the summer after Year 2, you can undertake a work placement with an engineering employer. On successful completion of this placement, you can use this work-based learning to accumulate a 5 ECTS module, which can be considered in your academic record in Year 3.
