Australian Institute of Higher Education (AIH)
The Diploma of Business (Hospitality and Tourism Management) is embedded in the Bachelor and Associate Degree of Business (Hospitality and Tourism Management) and has been designed as an exit qualification. The overall aim of the Diploma of Business (Hospitality and Tourism Management) is to provide a flexible, student-centred and academically rigorous course of study, which seeks to further develop students’ business and hospitality and tourism management skills and competencies and give them a solid foundation for further study at the undergraduate level. This course provides students an integrated approach with practical experience of industry specialists and formal academic learning. This course seeks to provide students with an undergraduate level of knowledge, competencies and values necessary for a fulfilling career in various areas of business administration and hospitality and tourism management. For this reason, students are required to undertake five core units which includes Academic Skills for Success; Marketing Foundations; Business Communication and Stakeholder Management; Principles of Management and Organisations; and Foundations of Information Technology. These core units are enhanced by three specialised hospitality and tourism management units of Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism; Food and Beverage Management; and Visitor Management.
