Gippsland Insitute of Technology (GIT)
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who service, diagnose and repair electrical systems and components in vehicles in the automotive electrical service and repair industry. On successful completion of this course students may progress onto the AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or other Automotive courses at Certificate IV level. Successful completion of this qualification may provide career opportunities as an Automotive Electrical Technician after successfully completing this course does not guarantee a graduate will secure a relevant job. Students are required to complete 32 units comprising 21 core and 11 elective units. Upon successful completion of 36 units of competency, the participant will be issued a Nationally Recognised AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology. Where a participant successfully completes some but not all the units of competency in the course, they will be issued a Statement of Attainment indicating the units they have successfully completed. The course is delivered via face-to-face training and independent study.
