Gippsland Insitute of Technology (GIT)
This qualification reflects the role of an individual working as a senior civil works designer or a para-professional designer, who supports professional engineers. They perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities. They are responsible for the design of complex projects to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements and are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements. Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this qualification can vary between states, territories and industry sectors. Users must check requirements with relevant body before applying the qualification. Students are required to undertake a total of 12 units to complete this course. This comprises 5 core and 7 elective units. Upon successful completion of the 12 units of competency in this course, students will be issued a RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design and a Record of results. If a student successfully completes some but not all the units of competency in the course, they will be issued a Statement of attainment indicating the units they have successfully completed. A blended delivery mode is implemented including face to face training and independent study and assessment outside of scheduled classes.
