Australian College of Community & Health Sciences (ACCHS)
Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care: This course provides students with skills to use a person centred approach to assist with early childhood care services, to assist with their education and encourage safe learning environment. Students who demonstrate competency in all units of competency will be granted a full nationally recognised Certificate III qualification. We train our students to build skills in making judgements in relation to individual support in aged care as well as taking responsibility for their contributions to people’s lives. The course combines both theory and practical training, with the bulk of the learning and assessment in the workplace where learners will be practising newly acquired knowledge through delivery of skills in areas relating to early childhood education and care. Students attend classes for 14 hours per week and undertake a total of 160 hours of work placement. 52 weeks (1 year) (including 40 training weeks and 12 weeks holiday).
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care: This course provides students with skills to use a person centred approach to assist with early childhood care services, to assist with their education and encourage safe learning environment. Students who demonstrate competency in all units of competency will be granted a full nationally recognised Diploma qualification. Our students demonstrate a range of factual, technical, procedural and theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide children-centred support. The course combines both theory and practical training, with the bulk of the learning and assessment in the workplace where learners will be practising newly acquired knowledge through delivery of skills in areas relating to early childhood education and care. There are fifteen (15) units of competency in this course. Students attend classes for 14 hours per week and undertake a total of 280 hours of work placement. 104 weeks (2 years) (including 80 training weeks and 24 weeks holiday).
