The Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) is designed to position graduates as professional software developers. It has been designed to provide a thorough understanding and application of fundamental principles of Information Technology such as problem investigation, requirements elicitation, solution design, software implementation, and deployment. Graduates of this course will have the opportunity and ability to engage with Information Technology projects where they can practice their professional and technical abilities.The Bachelor of Information Technology has been designed to create professionals equipped with the toolkit they need to tackle today’s most pressing issues in developing complex information systems and software applications for businesses and organisations, provide an understanding of theoretical and technological advances in modern software development while addressing ethical, cultural, and sustainability requirements. Innovative and creative software development permeate the course, representing areas of knowledge where graduates will have substantial awareness and highly developed skills.Students have the opportunity to study current trends and predict future ones in the area of innovative software design patterns and their associated technologies. A double subject Capstone subject will enable students to assure Graduate Attributes, and synthesise all skills and knowledge in an applied task. Some students will engage in their own entrepreneurial venture and others will apply their skills to industry based projects.
