Course overview

The Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) is the basic requirement for anyone who aspires to be employed as a professional pilot. At the Australian Airline Pilot Academy (AAPA), we train our candidate pilots to an airline standard. This ensures that your CPL training is conducted in the most professional environment available in Australasia. A candidate can attempt a commercial flight test once they have accumulated a minimum of 150 flight hours and reached a standard to pass the CPL flight test. The student must obtain a pass in several CPL theory examinations before they can undertake the CPL flight test which will be conducted by an Approved Testing Officer. The minimum age requirement of a candidate is 18 years old for the issue of a CPL following successful completion of the flight test.
