Victorian Institute of Technology (VIT)
Certificate III in Patisserie qualification reflects the role of pastry cook who uses a wide range of well-developed patisserie skills and sound knowledge of kitchen operations to produce patisserie products. Upon completing the course, they will be able to work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.
The Certificate IV in Patisserie qualification reflects the role of pastry chefs who have a supervisory or team leading role in the kitchen. Upon completing the course, they will be able to operate independently or with limited guidance from others and use discretion to solve non-routine problems.
The Diploma of Hospitality Management qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. Upon completing the qualification, they will be able to operate independently, have responsibility for others and make a range of operational business decisions.
