The Master of Science (Research) in Mathematical Sciences provides an opportunity to acquire research skills and to deepen knowledge in one of the areas of mathematics. The aim of the program is the professional development of candidates through mastery of a substantial body of mathematical literature together with original research work under the guidance of a supervisor.This research degree provides an opportunity for graduates to acquire high-level research skills and substantially deepen their knowledge in an area of mathematics or statistics. Students work under the guidance of a supervisor who is a full-time academic staff member of the faculty. Students may be required to take a prescribed subject in research methodology or any other subject deemed necessary by their principal supervisor.
