Queensland University of Technology (QUT)
The Queensland Government has committed to new targets of 70% renewable energy by 2032 and 80% by 2035 (Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan). With global targets for renewables on the rise, renewable energy skills and knowledge are critical in our national efforts towards net zero emissions. Renewable energy sources play a vital role in the continued reduction of our society’s carbon footprint. Understanding their availability, limitations and challenges is critical to engineering energy solutions which are balanced on social, economic and environmental grounds.
By studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Electrical and Renewable Power), you will gain an in-depth understanding of energy systems. You will gain hands-on experience working with technologies to generate electricity from renewable sources, including photovoltaics, wind power, solar thermal power, hydropower, and wave energy.
