Unity Skills College of Health (USCoHealth)
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. A total of 28 Units (23 Core and 5 electives) must be completed and deemed competent to achieve the qualification CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Participants who achieve competency in any unit/s will receive a Statement of Attainment (provided USI is verified) for that unit/s without completing all 28 units in the qualification. Students completing all the required units of competency will attain full qualification. Students who satisfactorily complete the Certificate III of Early Childhood Education and Care could continue their studies in the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care because number of the same units are in both qualifications, learners would receive credit for the relevant units in the Diploma. Students could also enrol in a degree program in Child Care and may be eligible for advanced standing depending on the individual Higher Education provider’s policies. Students who satisfactorily complete the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care will be able to find employment as room leaders in a childcare centre or family day care coordinator or occasional care coordinator or room leader within an early childhood education and care settings or early childhood director or early childhood educator. Face to face (Classroom based). At least 280 hours in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia with 78 weeks, including 66 study weeks and 12 weeks of holidays.
