Students will learn financial and management accounting techniques, and explore key business issues with the BSc Accounting. While developing their accounting knowledge and skills, students will develop themselves personally, become confident in their own values, apply their knowledge to solve problems, and ultimately learn to add value to any organisation. Across the three years, students will undertake specialist ACCA-accredited accounting modules, which means when they graduate, students will be exempt from nine of the ACCA professional exams if they choose to work towards their full professional qualification.
The degree is also accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), so students just need to take six CIMA exams to complete their CIMA qualification. Students will learn financial and management accounting techniques, including the preparation of financial reports. Students will also explore the latest business issues such as the growth in digital commerce, developments in data analysis, and the dynamic nature of the global business environment.
In addition to this students will be taught about people and project management, to complement their developing accounting skills. Studying at the University of Roehampton, students will become highly employable and capable, with the knowledge and skills required by employers and professional accounting bodies. This course offers all students the option of a one-year paid work placement, to boost their employability even further. If students choose this route, they will take the placement following year two of their course, and then return to complete their degree.
