Diploma in Journalism

Langara Journalism Diploma program aims to train students interested in journalism and communications careers. Our program teaches you unique skills that are invaluable in both industries. You will gain in-depth and hands-on experience in writing, copy-editing, research, news gathering, interviewing, and storytelling for a variety of multimedia platforms and subjects. This two-year diploma program is intended for those with or without previous post-secondary experience, in which students will take a combination of journalism, communications, and liberal arts courses. Students will also have the choice to concentrate on advanced journalism, advanced communications, or non-journalism subjects. An internship in the final term is a required component of the program. This hands-on, compelling experience prepares graduates for real-world newsrooms and communications shops that value accuracy, integrity and meeting deadlines.
