Sheridan’s English Language Studies (ESL) Certificate is an Ontario College Certificate program designed for learners who speak English as an additional language, with instruction spanning up to five levels: Foundations, Pre‑Intermediate, Intermediate, Advanced, and English for Academic Purposes (EAP).Delivered over a maximum of five semesters (14 weeks each) at campuses in Mississauga (Hazel McCallion) and Oakville (Trafalgar), plus a virtual/online option, it emphasizes skills in speaking, listening, reading, writing, plus pronunciation, grammar, and academic communication.In the EAP level, successful completion entitles students to a General Arts and Science Certificate, and allows them to apply to other Sheridan programs without additional English testing, assuming GPA requirements are met.
