The Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) program prepares students for current research fields, PhD programs, and career opportunities. This MS program is open to students with a Bachelor’s degree that have a strong interest in pursuing an engineering approach to solving problems using state-of-the-art equipment, cutting-edge tools, and modern software packages. CSU - Chico believes that the MS in ECE program enables students to contribute immediately to the development of new technologies in almost any field that they can imagine - artificial intelligence, electronics, biomedicine, agriculture, automotive, and robotics. By offering courses in three areas: Signals, Systems, and Machine Learning, Photonics, and Embedded Systems, the University welcomes students from a broad range of majors and domain interests such as electrical engineering, computer engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, mechatronic engineering, robotics, telecommunication, and automation. Students lacking preparation in one or more areas can take the required prerequisite courses after being admitted.
