The Mathematics Department at Cal State East Bay offers an M.S. in Mathematics. Our program blends theory and application to prepare students for careers in industry, community college teaching, and advanced study toward a Ph.D. Our core curriculum provides background in the fundamental tools of applied mathematics including numerical analysis and scientific computing, differential equations, applied analysis, and linear algebra. In addition, research projects are available on topics ranging from data science, fluid dynamics, mathematical biology, mathematical physics, graph theory, combinatorics, and mathematics education.Our program features small classes that allow for close contact between students and faculty. We pride ourselves on delivering rich mathematical experiences as well as cultivating a supportive learning environment for graduate students.
