Are you interested in Earth Science and sharing your knowledge with others? Our program can help you inspire the next generation of scientists and gain knowledge, skills, and teaching experience to make a difference. As an Earth Science education major, you’ll have a chance to explore all aspects of our planet through hands-on fieldwork, lab experiments, and classroom instruction. Our program covers a broad range of topics, including geology, meteorology, oceanography, and environmental science, and is designed to give you a complete understanding of Earth’s dynamic systems and processes. After completing our program, you’ll be fully equipped to engage your students in stimulating and interactive learning experiences, while also nurturing their curiosity about the environment. Our Earth Science degree program is designed to prepare you for licensure in the commonwealth of Virginia, which will allow you to teach Earth science to students in grades 6-12.
