Working in the state-of-the-art labs, students master analytical techniques and learn how to test food professionally. They gain an understanding of consumer food behavior and how to influence and implement change to improve the nation's health. The curriculum covers the fundamentals of food, nutrition, and exercise, including food handling skills, the functionality of raw and cooked food ingredients, key social issues in nutrition, sport, and exercise, the relationship between nutrition, metabolism, digestion, diet, and health. Students also learn how to analyze food and drink using various scientific techniques and explore nutritional needs throughout an individual's lifespan. During the first two years, all students undertake Food Science, Nutrition and Wellbeing as a foundation.
