This three‑year full‑time honours degree (with optional four‑year variants including a year abroad or a year of employment experience) is based at the Streatham Campus in Exeter. It offers a unique combination of archaeological inquiry and scientific methods: you’ll learn core skills in fieldwork, laboratory techniques, data‐analysis, material culture and environmental sampling, and you’ll apply these to investigate the human past in both practical and theoretical settings.Early years emphasise practical modules (e.g., “Practical Skills in Archaeology”, “Archaeological and Forensic Science Practicals”) alongside foundational modules on world archaeology and materials.Later years allow you to specialise in “scientific” optional modules (e.g., zooarchaeology, funerary osteoarchaeology, digital pasts) and culminate in a dissertation plus a capstone practical module in archaeological, forensic and heritage science.
