This three-year undergraduate programme combines rigorous study in mathematics with the theory and practice of computer science. You will learn foundational mathematical techniques (such as calculus, linear algebra, discrete mathematics) alongside core computer science topics (programming, data structures, system architectures, software development) from the first year.In later years you study more advanced modules in both fields, undertake a substantial individual project (software or computational in nature), and choose optional modules allowing you to tailor the degree to your interests. The course emphasises the interplay between mathematics and computing: for example, mathematical logic underpins computation, and computational methods open up new areas of mathematics, making this joint degree a “natural combination”. The degree is delivered on the Streatham Campus in Exeter. Typical entry requirements include high achievement in A-Levels (for example AAA-AAB including A-level Mathematics) or equivalent IB grades.
