Southeast Missouri State University
The Nursing Program at Southeast Missouri State University prepares you for a job in the medical field. You’ll work with experienced professionals in small class settings. In addition, you’ll gain real world experience through clinical opportunities. In the nursing program at SEMO, students gain exceptional real-world learning experiences through a curriculum accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Clinical practice spans every specialty area in nursing, with students working alongside faculty and clinical agency staff to apply their knowledge in real healthcare settings. The program features 12 high-fidelity mannequins that simulate a variety of clinical environments, enhancing hands-on training. Instruction is delivered by highly qualified faculty, all of whom hold at least a master’s degree in nursing, with 70% possessing doctoral degrees. Students engage in practical learning across diverse settings, including medical centers, primary care facilities, schools, home health agencies, and long-term care institutions. In the final semester, students complete eight weeks of focused NCLEX preparation, ensuring they are well-prepared for licensure and professional practice.
