Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM)
When you graduate with a degree in Kinesiology, you’ll be ready to work in a number of sport or health-related fields. AUM’s Kinesiology degree has three options. Exercise Science will prepare you to be a strength and conditioning coach, exercise physiologist or health fitness instructor and for physical therapy school. With the Physical Education Teacher Certification, you’ll be able to teach elementary and secondary physical education or coach high school sports. The Sport Management option equips you for the business side of sports, leading to a job as a sports event planner, team marketer, ticket sales specialist, and more. Sport Management concentration is a combination of sport-related coursework and business class work will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the sport industry. Instructors will assist students in exploring and determining potential career paths. Courses will focus on the uniqueness of sport in areas such as marketing, facility management, risk management and legal issues, leadership, ethics, etc. An internship is required.
