The Louisiana State University School of Animal Sciences is dedicated to meeting the challenges of the industry through research, outreach, and teaching efforts. The School offers Bachelor of Science Degrees in six areas of concentration, providing graduates with employment opportunities in various sectors of animal, dairy, and poultry production, processing, distribution, marketing, research, and teaching. Qualified undergraduate students can participate in the Summer Internship Program, which integrates academic and work experience to prepare students for industry roles after graduation. Graduates of the animal sciences curriculum have career opportunities in production enterprises, agribusinesses, feed and pharmaceutical companies, food product industries, and state and federal agencies.
