Civil engineering has an impact on almost every aspect of the environment, from building structures to transportation and sanitation. It has applications all over the world, with key skills transferable into other industries. The Master of Science in Civil Engineering is a broad based civil engineering course covering the areas of structures, geotechnics, water engineering, water transportation, computer-aided design, highway engineering and railway engineering. Students will be required to complete an individual project into a specific area of the program. This will provide them with the opportunity to pursue independent study and undertake work of an investigative nature, contributing an experimental, analytical, computer-based or fieldwork input.
