The Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) program is the professional graduate program leading to the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB)—the educational credentials needed for licensure as a registered, practicing architect. The program is designed as a two-year curriculum for students with a four-year, pre-professional degree in architecture and a three-and-one-half-year curriculum for students without a pre-professional degree in architecture. The M.Arch. The curriculum of study is composed of design studios, lecture classes, thesis development classes, and electives. The culmination of the M.Arch studies is the Master’s Thesis Project. This final exercise is a synthesis of a student's specific focus and individual interests, with the knowledge, experiences, and skills gained in the graduate experience.
