Civil engineering, the oldest engineering profession, is a broad discipline that covers many aspects of our everyday lives. As a civil engineer you will have the chance to plan, design, construct and manage towers & villas, highways, roads & transportation systems, sewage and water systems, desalination & waste-water treatment plants, tunnels, bridges, dams & canals, harbours & ports and facilities for solid, chemical & nuclear waste. Civil engineers are leaders in the economic development of the UAE, building and managing mega projects that are transforming the UAE to a knowledge-based, sustainable, and diversified economy. Civil engineering is an integral part of the UAE’s National Innovation Strategy in renewable energy, water, transportation, technology and education. Through this Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program, you will gain a thorough understanding of the fundamental subjects that underpin civil engineering and build skills to design and propose solutions using advanced tools and technologies including computer aided design (CAD), geographical information systems (GIS) and 3D computer modelling. You will acquire problem solving and analysis abilities to find practical solutions to real life civil engineering problems whilst taking into account the relevant social, economic and environmental and sustainability requirements. If you excel in the program you will have the opportunity to receive a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from ADU and a Master’s degree from our partner, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, through our unique 3+2 program.
