Through this course, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of how biochemistry and biomolecular sciences contribute to advancements in various biological disciplines, such as medicine and biotechnology. The program offers extensive hands-on training in laboratory techniques, allowing students to develop practical skills in computing, statistics, data analysis, and presentation. The flexibility of this program allows students to shape their academic experience by specializing in a specific area or exploring interdisciplinary research. The degree title remains flexible until the final year, giving students the option to continue with BSc Biochemistry or switch to another bioscience course. The final degree title will depend on module selection, with guidance from a Personal Tutor. Additionally, students may have the opportunity to pursue a four-year MBiochem integrated master's degree, which serves as a strong foundation for a future career in scientific research. Graduates of this program have a wide range of career options within biological and molecular sciences, including biotechnology research and development, scientific publishing, pharmaceutical industries, molecular biology, journalism, teaching, and veterinary science.
