Master of Science in Materials Engineering

Materials Engineering offers graduate programs of instruction and research leading to the degrees of master of science (MS) and doctor of philosophy (PhD). All applicants must submit GRE scores for the General Test. Students completing all degree programs are expected to have knowledge in the following areas: mechanical properties; materials structure; materials thermodynamics; kinetics; and electrical, optical and magnetic properties of materials. There are no foreign language or minor requirements for materials engineering graduate degrees. All students must submit an approved plan of study within one year of matriculating in the program.
