Course overview
If you’re interested in technology and working with patients in a healthcare setting either emphasis provides an excellent choice in a growing career field. If you’re not sure which area is right for you, our program makes it easy to transition between emphases while you’re completing your core courses. Students that complete the program successfully are team players, committed, communicate well and excel in the sciences. Both areas offer unique training experiences for students in some of southeastern Wisconsin’s best healthcare organizations. During the professional phase, you’ll rotate between clinical sites within the healthcare system to which you are accepted. This provides you with the opportunity to provide care right away and work with diverse patient populations in settings both large and small. It will also help you understand how your area of emphasis operates in different environments, from fast-paced Emergency Departments to clinic settings and everything in between. As you gain an understating of each service area in which you’re placed, you’ll be better able to determine your career focus and maximize network opportunities with professionals in the field.
