Crown Institute of Higher Education (CIHE)
The Diploma of Entrepreneurship and Innovation will be a one-year full-time (or part-time equivalent) AQF level 5 qualification designed to enable students to acquire knowledge of the concepts and theories of entrepreneurship and innovation and to apply them professionally and ethically in dynamically evolving business and commercial contexts locally and globally. All the units together provide the foundation of a scaffold which would see students’ progress, if they wish, to the Bachelor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation with full credit for the first year. Throughout the course, students will acquire foundation cognitive skills to source, distil and interpret relevant business and commercial information and data to work within the complex commercial contexts of new ventures or business growth opportunities. They will be able to identify business opportunities and conceive innovative ideas and ventures drawing on rudimentary problem-solving strategies. They will be introduced to business concepts that facilitate interaction and communication with others so that they can operate with competence in a collaborative team context. A graduate of the course will be able to make sound choices based on ethical standards to guide their entrepreneurial practice and business activities.
