Course overview

For those who want to study agriculture, but only want to commit to a year, then Lakeland college's general ag certificate is the perfect choice. Students can focus on either crop or livestock production. Whatever their choice, students will learn common skills for modern agricultural operations: computer training, keeping accurate business records, and using up-to-date technology such as GPS.

Half of the time students will be on college farm putting theory into practice.

- -On the crop side--learn practical field skills to identify weed and plants as well as assess pest problems.

- -On the livestock side--develop basic production skills for dairy, cow-calf, and sheep.
