Course overview

In combination with the your classroom concepts, you'll experience hands-on practice in state-of-the-art computing labs - microfabrication lab, optical information processing lab, photonics lab, signal processing lab, systems and control lab, communications networks lab, advanced digital design lab, opto-electronics devices lab, HAM-radio lab, ultraviolet laser lithography lab, and computational electromagnetic lab. Our curriculum draws from software courses taken in computer science and hardware courses taken from electrical and computer engineering, culminating in the integration of hardware and software in systems design.  An extensive laboratory experience is integrated with the classroom work to ensure that the student develops a working knowledge of the fundamentals.  Upper level courses integrate the knowledge base with current technology and computational tools resulting in a professional graduate prepared to make contributions to the engineering profession by either entering the work force or pursuing a graduate education. Our computer engineering program focuses on digital electronics and digital system design and the design development analysis and application of hardware and software for computing systems.
